Baptism Preparation Teams

The Baptism Preparation Teams are people who volunteer to help parents, who are the 'first and best teachers in the way of faith' to get ready not only for the baptism of their child but also for what baptism means in family life.

The catechists work in three teams of three people. After families have made an initial enquiry the catechists visit the families, they prepare them at a session for the Rite of Welcome that takes place at Sunday Mass. At the second session they go through all the symbols that happen during the baptism service.

The catechists are on hand at the Rite of Welcome and the Baptism Service to support the families.
