MINISTRIES
The list of ministries is a long one, this includes sacristans (who, like John the Baptist, prepare the way for the Lord in preparing the altar for Mass), collectors and counters in Church. Many people help in small, often un-noticed, ways but without their help things would grind to a halt. There are also many parishioners whose ministry at this time is their family and this is right, but we hope that if they have some time to give in the future, they can find a way to give in our parish.

DIACONATE
An ordained ministry in the Church open to men over the age of 35. The parish has been blessed by some wonderful Deacons in its history.

BEREAVEMENT GROUP
This provides support for parishioners at the time of the death of a loved one. The group will also enable the rosary to be said prior to the funeral service. This group also organises an annual Mass for those who have been bereaved (usually in November). For more information contact Eunice Austin.

THE S.V.P.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society puts into action the command of Jesus to love one another as God loves us.
For anyone in need please contact the S.V.P. via its chair, Mike Donnelly, at the Parish Office.

ST CYRIL'S YOUTH PROJECT - SCCYP
This project was set up by a religious sister who lived in St. Cyril's parish. This group offers excellent activities for young people and the community. It is based in the former Chuirch of St Cyril in Naylorsfield.

Shirley is here Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
Sr Kathleen is on duty on Monday and Lilian on Thursday.
We try to ensure that there is someone available each morning but feel free to come along at any time.

MUKURU PROJECT
Meets monthly in the Trinity Room

MUSICIANS
If you are interested in being part of this group, contact Mike Donnelly (at OLA). If you are willing to join the parish (and you can sing, a bit!) please contact Mike Donnelly on 0151 428 4955, for further information.

The CHOIR rehearses every 2nd Saturday morning, it is fun and a good shared experience. The choir has made a real significant difference to our celebration of Mass.

MONDAY CLUB
The Monday Club is a club for people with disabilities. We started meeting many years ago and are now based in the Trinity Room at Our Lady's Church. We meet every other Monday evening between 7:30pm and 9:00pm. New members and helpers are welcome.
For more information contact Christine Harland or Doris Murphy.

LEGION of MARY
Each Monday afternoon a local presidium of the Legion of Mary meets at Our Lady's, in the Trinity Room. The local president is Marie Comer. She can be contacted via the parish office. The legendary Miss Hannah Coleman is part of the Legion of Mary.

READERS and EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
There are over 50 readers and Eucharistic Ministers in the parish. Their ministry is to proclaim the Word of God and to help in the distribution of Holy Communion in church and at home.
If you feel that you can help in this way please contact Fr Philip or Bernadette Ness (11.00am Mass); Maureen Russell (9.30am Mass); Shirley Green (5.00pm Mass).

SCRIPTURE GROUP
At various times in the year a scripture study group meets. This is usually for 4 weeks. Please consult the parish newsletter for further details.

CHILD PROTECTION
The protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults is of primary concern in all of our activities. We subscribe to the Archdiocesan Procedures and Policies, Safe and Sound. We have a team of volunteers who oversee our parish implementation of Safe and Sound, led by Pauline Edwards assisted by Shirley Green. She can be contacted via the parish office.

BROWNIES
Open to girls aged 7 to 10. They meet weekly in Our Lady's School during term time. For more information please call 0151 428 4189.

WELCOMERS
The welcomers arrive 20 minutes before Mass starts in order to hand out newsletters, hymn books and any additional information to parishioners as they arrive. We consider this as important in making people feel part of our parish family. If you are interested in joining this friendly group, working on a rota, please make contact.

PARISH COUNCIL
The Parish Pastoral Council is a group which would look at taking real responsibility for the running of the parish. Parishioners were invited to put their names forward for membership of the Council. The following are its members:
Jenny Ablewhite, Pat Barrett, Sue Barrett, Mark Brennan, Pauline Edwards, Bernadette Ness, Rita Perry, Fr Philip, Mary Roberts,  Beryl Cooke, Ruddy Murray.
Please bring to any Parish Council member your hopes and questions about parish life.

ALTAR SERVERS
There are altar servers who serve at each of the Sunday (and Saturday night) Masses. Beryl Cooke co-ordinates the servers at the 11.00am Mass. Being an altar server is open to anyone who has celebrated 1st Holy Communion. Please contact Beryl Cooke or Fr Philip if you are interested.

CHURCH CLEANERS
Our church is beautifully kept. (Recently on a a visit Professor John Tarn, the chair of the Art and Architecture Ciommission of the Diocese, said that it was one of the best kept churches he had ever visited).
We are proud of the Church, we love our Church and we are proud of those who work so hard to keep it to such a fine standard. If you are willing to help in cleaning the church, please contact Fr Philip.

FLOWER ARRANGERS
Flowers for Sunday Mass and special liturgical services are arranged by people in the parish. In Our Lady's this is done by Eunice Austin and Mary Prior. Anyone wanting to help in this ministry should contact them via the Parish office. It is possible to donate flowers for the church in memory of someone or to mark the date and intention you wish to remember.

PIETY SHOP
At the back of Our Lady's Church is a well stocked piety shop. Here you will find gifts for all occasions; a selection of cards (including Mass Cards); seasonal items and first communion and Baptism gifts. Joan Miller and her team run the piety shop.

FUND RAISING

Many people are involved in regular fund raising.  There is also much fund raising done quietly and often anonymously. Without this help many projects in the Church could not be done.

GIFT AID

At the Offertory of the Mass we support the work of the Parish by our giving in the collection. The money collected goes to support the work of the Church and to provide for the priest. If you are a tax payer your gift can earn an extra 20p in each pound. If you are interested please contact Peter Cummins via the parish office. We also encourage donation through standing orders, these can also be arranged through Peter.
